When the apostle Paul was dying, he gave his successor a most solemn charge: 'I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word'! 

It is easy to acknowledge that preaching the word of God is foundational to the pastoral ministry; it is much harder to actually do it! Learning how to go from the words Scripture to the words of our sermon is the goal of this month's meeting.

In the years that I have known Dr Pierre Constant I have been consistently amazed by his ability to demonstrate that the deepest and most careful mining of the Bible yields its greatest treasures. He has a truly remarkable gift for teaching biblical interpretation; and the mind of a scholar combined with the heart of a pastor is true gift to the church.

So, join us on February 9th and plan now to take another day off that week instead of Monday. We want to learn how to improve our preaching abilities so that we can show ourselves to be a 'workman approved' in that great day.
